Homeowners - Charlotte (Architect, 6 years) and Mike (landscape designer, 25 years) used their collective knowledge and experience to venture past the usual and expected, bringing the outside inside when designing their home. Mike has years of experience with our products and wanted to use both the AQL-510 in Aged Brass and AQS-500 Neon Flex around the home to illuminate paths, steps and under deck/seating specifically designed by Charlotte.
Living next to bushland, Charlotte wanted to continue the feel through the home, having full-width and height glass doors and windows facing the backyard and natural landscape, the outdoor lighting was visible from the inside.
Liking the Aged Brass finish and half-moon shape of the AQL-510 Charlotte threw caution to the wind strategically placing them inside to light the hallways and stairwell. The low-lying step lights created a soft crescent light without overlighting the area, guiding your eye along the hallway to the outside, bringing the outside inside. Continuing the look and feel they used the step lights to highlight the stairwell.
Neon Flex was used outside under the seating/deck areas, giving them a warm inviting feeling leading to the home. Keeping the strategy, Charlotte continued to use the Neon Flex AQS-500 in the bathrooms and bedrooms as the main lighting nicely snuggled between the top of the wall and ceiling.
Their architectural design and landscaped home continued the theme inside and outside. Creative thinking and breaking stereotypes.
